Barney is a subsistence farmer, visual artist, teacher, calligrapher, poet, ecologist, social and home school activist, local history and folk song collector and former third world volunteer, world traveller and navy airman. his songs reflect his varied background and his more than 25 yrs in the Ottawa Valley. He lives and works, without hydro or phone, on an isolated 300 acre "rock farm" near Wilno with his wife Patricia and the comings and goings of his four sons.
